The Tigers completed their sweep of the Nationals last night 8-4 – as well they should have. The Nats were just out of their league in this series. The Tiger were in their shoes once, and will be again some day too. That’s one of the great things about baseball: the natural in which (almost) all teams peak and valley.
- Congratulations to Sammy Sosa on career home run # 600. Insert your corked bat and steroid jokes here.
- The Cubs traded embattled catcher Michael Barrett earlier this week. You didn’t really trhink they’d trade Carlos Zambrano, did you?
- In a move that Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski promises won’t be the last, Wilfredo Ledezma was traded to the Braves. This sounds like a move that was made to allow the tigers some options – for clearing roster spaces with with Rogers & Co. returning.
As of now, it looks like I’ll be making the trip to Atlanta to see the Tigers/Braves game Saturday afternoon. Look for me on FOX. As my dad says "I’ll be the guy wearing the Tiger jersey" which should REALLY narrow it down (Note the sarcasam).
